Capo Vaticano - Route
12 km - easy - flat
The Capo Vaticano tip, called "Belvedere" is a point where the eye, ranging in every direction, is able to observe really beautiful landscapes. From this area, through a stair well cut into the cliff, you may descend to a number of beaches that in other ways are almost inaccessible, with gravelly sand and crystal clear sea water, with rocks of various shapes and sizes emerging on the sides. Capo Vaticano is also a radio beacon, important for those who sail from the north directly to the Messina’s Straits. It was activated for the first time in 1885 and modernized in 1946. The white cylindrical tower is topped by a polygonal aluminum colored lantern leans.
