Mileto and Paravati
Mileto is a municipality in the Vibo Valentia’s province. It was founded by the Asian “milesi” driven out by Dario and gained importance during the time of Roger the Norman, when it became the Region’s capital and episcopal seat. It was destroyed by an earthquake in 1783, then completely rebuilt. You must visit the State Museum, where the most precious artifacts found in the archaeological area are collected.
A kilometer south of Mileto lies Paravati, where Natuzza Evolo lived, that became famous throughout Italy for appearances and interviews with Madonna and with Jesus. Her grave is located into "Cuore Immacolato di Maria" foundation.

Cathedral of Mileto: Mileto ancient cathedral was destroyed by the 1783’s earthquake. The construction of a new cathedral lasted for over 30 years. The new church was built on the remains of the previous building. Hours: 07:00 AM. to 8:00 PM..
Mileto’s State and Diocesan Museum: housed in the Bishop's Palace (XIX century) it promotes the knowledge of the historical, artistic and archaeological heritage from the Mileto’s territory. Visits by appointment.
"Cuore Immacolato di Maria" foundation is located on Villa Gioia. The church, dedicated to "Cuore Immacolato di Maria”, is under construction. Hours: 09:00 AM. - 3:00 PM. 12:00 PM. - 7:00 PM.
